This year we are concentrating our fundraising efforts on Yarik. He came to Wisconsin at age16. He had to leave his family behind in the southeastern part of Ukraine. War was on their doorstep, and they were desperate to keep their youngest son safe. Almost two years have past, and things have only gotten worse. There is no safe way for him to return home, there may never be. Although his family was middle class before the war, they are no longer able to contribute significantly to his education. He has successfully completed high school and is going to college, in the fall. Thankfully, he has earned just over $45,000/year in merit-based scholarships. Unfortunately, he still needs an additional $25,000/year to attend. Yarik needs $100,000 over four years to graduate from a top tier American college.
